Abstract

A 16-year-old athlete, who specialized in distance running, suffered from cramping muscular pain in the right lower anterior quadrant of the abdominal wall. Pain was induced by effort and relieved at rest. Acupuncture treatment resulted in complete and permanent recovery. The athlete was able to resume all activities and achievements in competitive sports.
