Abstract

Energy spectra of α-particles were measured at 0°for the systems Si28+C12,13 in the range Elab(Si28)=75-102 MeV in 0.750 MeV steps. Transitions to discrete states in Ar36 up to ∼20 MeV excitation energy via the C12(Si28,α)Ar36 reaction are observed. The excitation functions measured for some of these transitions show structures ∼1 MeV wide. No strong (Si28, α) transitions to discrete states are observed for the Si28+C13 system. NUCLEAR REACTIONS C12,13(Si28,α), E=75-102 MeV, measured σ(E), Ar36 deduced levels.
