Abstract
Geomagnetic pulsations excited in the magnetosphere at drift-bounce resonance have a back effect on the distribution function of trapped particles. This paper obtains a system of quasi-linear equations describing the dynamics of this interaction. The contribution of geomagnetic pulsations to the radial diffusion and acceleration of particles along the geomagnetic force-lines is determined. The role of quasi-linear effects in the ring-current region and in the plasma sheet is considered.
