Abstract

Here I present a somewhat condensed and very personal report on SESAME (Synchrotron-light for Experimental Science and Applications in the Middle East) which is a regional “third-generation” synchrotron light source under construction in Allan, Jordan. It will be the Middle East’s first major international research center. It is expected, right now, to become operational during 2016/2017.
