Abstract
Electron microscope imaging and electron diffraction in the transmission mode reveal the (110) twins in orthorhombic superconducting YBa//2Cu//3O//7. These twins are formed during the tetragonal (non-superconducting) to orthorhombic shear transformation. The inhomogeneity at the twin boundary consists of local angular distortion and the spatial redistribution of the oxygen-oxygen vacancy pair. Several possible localization effects are discussed.
