Abstract

Let π : Aut(F_n) → Aut(ℤⁿ) be the epimorphism induced by the isomorphism Zⁿ ≅ F_n/F _n^′ and define T_n:= kerπ. We prove that the subset of T_n consisting of all non-irreducible with irreducible powers and all non-hyperbolic elements is exponentially small.
