Abstract

A simple multisubunit model for a regulatory enzyme is presented. Each subunit consists of an active and a regulatory site. We examine the molecular conditions under which a positive ligand-ligand cooperativity combined with a negative ligand-effector cooperativitiy produces a sharp inverted s-shaped regulatory curve in this system.
