Soft mode behavior in PbTi1-xZbxO3

Abstract

Raman scattering experiments were performed in the system PbTi1-xZrxO3. The substitution of Ti by Zr leads to a softening of the lowest E(TO) mode in PbTiO3, and to the creation of an additional mode, which appears to interact with the soft mode.
