title = "Soft X-ray laser gain prediction at high density for the nitrogen isoelectronic sequence",
abstract = "Population inversions for 2s22p23s - 2s22p23p and for 2s22p23p - 2s22p23d are predicted for ions of the N-like isoelectronic sequence at electron density ne higher than 1022 cm-3. Maximum gains of 46 cm-1 for Kr29+ at 245 A are expected. The electron temperature Te was fixed at half the ionization potential. A detailed analysis shows that the mechanisms responsible for the population inversion enhancement are collisional de-excitation and radiation trapping.",
