N2 - Equations for the calculation of the solubilities of halite, sylvite and carnallite, individually or combined, have been set up for the quinquinary system NaCl-KCl-MgCl2-CaCl2-H2O at 25 °C. These equations also yield the vapour pressure of the water above both unsaturated and saturated solutions in this system. The equations take into account cation-cation interactions in mixed solutions having ionic strengths exceeding those of saturated solutions of individual salts. The calculated results are compared with measured values of the vapour pressures and with values of the solubilities reported in the literature.
