Abstract

The solubility of argon in mixtures of water and ethylene glycol was measured at several temperatures in the range 5-25°. The thermodynamic functions of solutions of argon in these mixtures, Δμs°, ΔSs°, and ΔHs°, were calculated and interpreted in terms of the structural changes in this system. An estimate of the contribution to the entropy of solution of argon in water from structural changes is suggested.
