Abstract
The solubility of argon in mixtures of water and p-dioxane was measured at several temperatures in the range of 5-25°C. The thermodynamic functions of solution Δμ°, ΔS̄° and ΔH̄° were calculated. The results obtained are interpreted as arising from a destabilization of the structure of water by p-dioxane.
