Abstract

A special angle cut of iron-doped potassium niobate crystal was designed to achieve the maximum exponential photorefractive gain coefficient and the highest diffraction efficiency. Volume hologram is thermally fixed in this sample. A significant enhancement of diffraction efficiency of the fixed grating by 43% is measured.
