Abstract
We report an experimental study of the nonlinear response of single-crystal Nb. In the stationary regime the non-linearity exists only in a surface superconducting state of Nb and it was found that the non-linear response is non-monotonic function of the amplitude of excitation. The theoretical analysis based on the two level model of a stochastic resonance (SR) phenomenon provides a qualitative explanation of the experimental results.
