Structure and phase transitions in antiphase boundaries of improper ferroelectrics

Abstract

The phase transitions in the antiphase domain boundaries of the improper ferroelectrics with the two-component order parameter (GMO-type) is studied. For the case when the bulk phase transition is of the second order the phase diagram of antiphase-boundary states is obtained. There is a multicritical point on this diagram. The case when the bulk phase transition is of the first order and close to the tricritical point is discussed qualitatively.
