Abstract

Syntheses are described of a series of peptides and peptide derivatives which correspond to the sequence of the seven N-terminal positions in the primary structure of bovine pancreatic ribonuclease A. The hydrazides of Nα,Nω-di-t-butyloxycarbonyllysyl-γ-t-butylglutamyl-threonylalanylalanylalanyl-Nω-t-but yloxycarbonylly sine, N-t-butyloxycarbonylthreonylalanylalanylalanyl-Nω-t-butyloxycarbonyllysine, and t-butyloxycarbonylalanyl-alanylalanyl-Nω-t-butyloxycarbonyllysine whose preparation is described served to introduce the N-terminal section into more complex peptides related to ribonuclease.
