Abstract
Syntheses are described of the following seven peptides all related to the N-terminus of bovine pancreatic ribonuclease A: Nʹ-formyllysylphenylalanylglutamyl-arginylglutaminylhistidylmethionine, alanylalanylqlanyl-lysylphenylalanylglutamylargin ylglutaminylhist idy l-methionine, threonylalanylalanylalanylly s ylphenyl-alanylglutamylarginylglutaminylhistidylmethionine, ly-sylglutamylthreonylala ny lalanyla lan ylly sylph en yl-alanylglutamylarginylglutamine, lysylglutamylthreonyl-alanylalanylalanyllysylphenylala nylglutamylarginyl-glutaminylhistidine amide, lysylglutamylthreonylalanyl-alanylalanyllysylglutamylargin ylglutaminylhist idy l-methionine, and lysylglutamylthreonylalanylalanyl-alanyllysylphenylalanylgl utam ylarginylglutaminyl-histidyl-a-amino-n-butyric acid. Evidence is presented for the homogeneity of these compounds.
