Abstract

The aim of the present study was to analyze the mechanisms involved in the formation of E rosettes by human T lymphocytes. The effect of temperature on the formation and disintegration of rosettes was studied. Metabolic inhibitors were tested for their effect on the formation of rosettes by untreated sheep RBC, with neuraminidase treated sheep RBC, or with sheep RBC coated with antibody and complement. Finally, the effect of a specific antiserum to human T lymphocytes was studied for its capacity to prevent the formation of rosettes with RBC from various species.
