Abstract
Treatment of responding cells with low concentrations of papain allows the use of lower numbers of responding cells and earlier detection of cell mediated cytotoxicity (CMC). Furthermore, in addition to an augmentation in cytotoxic activity, greater numbers of activated lymphoblasts are generated. Thus, enzymatic modification of responding cells might be a valuable means of increasing the sensitivity of in vitro and in vivo generation of cytotoxic cells.
