Abstract
The radiation spectrum of a plasma produced by laser impact on a solid Al-target was observed as a function of time in the wavelength region between 50 and 2000 AA. This spectrum consists of an intense continuum background along with line radiation of ions of high degree of ionization. The electron temperature was determined from the maximum of the Bremsstrahlung continuum after a careful analysis of the contributions of the different orders of the diffraction grating as well as an intensity calibration of the u.v. spectrometer.
