Abstract
Close-lying excited states to the ground state of a paramagnetic ion produce a pseudonuclear g-factor in ligand ions, via the superhyperfine interaction. Expressions for describing this effect are derived, and used to analyse ENDOR spectra of Er**3** plus in cubic and tetragonal symmetries in CaF//2 and Ho**2** plus in cubic symmetry. Refs.
