Abstract

Values of the surface tension increments by electrolytes in aqueous solutions, dΔγ/dc2, reported in the literature have been critically examined and are presented. The additivity of the ionic contributions to these increments has been tested and confirmed within ± 0.2 mN·m-1·mol-1·dm3. A set of ionic increments dΔγ/dci is proposed and tabulated.
