Abstract

Values of the surface tension increments by electrolytes in aqueous solutions, dΔγ/dc₂, reported in the literature have been critically examined and are presented. The additivity of the ionic contributions to these increments has been tested and confirmed within ± 0.2 mN·m^-1·mol^-1·dm³. A set of ionic increments dΔγ/dc_i is proposed and tabulated.
