Abstract
A series of polybutadiene-containing poly(ether urethane amide)s was synthesized. The physical properties of the resulting polymers were observed to be significantly affected both by the polybutadiene content in the soft segment, as well as by the nature of dicarboxylic acid chain extender. Preliminary derivatization reactions of the polymers were performed via a free-radical reaction mechanism, using different acrylic monomers as a model, by which a range of polymer properties were obtained, including highly hydrophobic and hydrogel-like materials.
