Abstract
Synthesis of a single-phase polycrystalline sample of YBa2Cu2WO9-δ is reported. X-ray diffraction measurements confirm the face-centered-cubic (Fm3m) structure found earlier for TbBa2Cu3O7. DTA and TGA measurements indicate that a completely reversible liberation of 0.5 atom oxygen occurs at 1050°C. Electrical-resistivity measurements exhibit essentially semiconducting behavior and no superconductivity is found by DC magnetic susceptibility measurements.
