Abstract

The angular distribution of γ-rays excited by the (p, n) reaction on 74Ge, leading to the final nucleus 74As, have been measured. The results have been compared with the predictions of the compound nucleus statistical model. Possible values of some spins and parities of the low-lying states of 74As at excitation energies of 172, 197, 200, 206, 267 and 273 keV are suggested. From this work and from other published data, the spins and parities of the levels at 173 and 273 keV are determined to be (0+) and (3+), respectively.
