Abstract
A mixture of influences on Jewish settlements help explain the unique integration of varied agricultural practices in the late 19th century. Undoubtedly, the wine moshavot were in the forefront of the incorporation of European influences into the Jewish settlement in Palestine, a process promoted by the patronage of Baron de Rothschild and his administration. However, the process never resulted in uniform monotonous, unvarying agriculture. -Author
