The city of Gaza in the Roman period: the numismatic evidence (first century BCE - third century CE)

Research output: Book/Report › Book

Abstract

"Between 1956 and 1961 the Israel Numismatic Society produced four volumes of the Corpus Nummorum Palaestinensium (CNP), a series intended to catalogue the ancient coins produced by the cities and peoples that existed in the territory of modern Israel and the surrounding regions. These volumes, by L. Kadman, included a detailed study of three cities: Aelia Capitolina, Caesarea Maritima, and Ptolemais-Akko. The last volume in this series, up to the current one, was published by R. Barkay and presents the study of the coins of Nysa-Scythopolis." - t.p. verso.
