Abstract

A study on crystal structure refinement and the magnetic susceptibility of La_2-xEr_xO₃ was presented. The x-ray powder diffraction patterns of the samples were refined by the Rietveld full profile method. The magnetic susceptibility was measured in the temperature range 4-300 K. The magnetic behavior of trivalent erbium ion was discussed in connection with the different local symmetry sites.
