Abstract
The inheritance of seed coat-color, epicotyl color, growth habit, flower color, and pod indehiscence in the lentil was studied. Each character was found to be governed by a single Mendelian factor. The significance of pod indehiscence in the evolution of the cultivated lentil is discussed.
