Abstract

Single crystals of Sr₄PtO₆ were obtained by means of a chemical reaction which occurs between SrO and platinum metal at 1150°C. The starting SrO was formed in situ from the hydrolysis of SrCl₂. The crystals were characterized by X-ray diffraction.
