Abstract

In skin-blistering diseases, attention of cellular adhesion results in a loss of cohesion of the epithelium of the skin and the mucous membranes. These disorders are often genetically determined and involve highly specific autoantibodies. A recent workshop discussed the immunology of these diseases.
