Abstract

The angular distributions of some α-particle groups from the 42Ca(d, α)40K and the 48Ca(d, α)46K reactions have been measured at a bombarding energy of 11.0 MeV. From comparison of the angular distributions, L-values have been obtained and tentative spin assignments of the ground state and of three low-lying excited states in 46K have been made. The results are as follows: ground state (2-); 0.586(4-); 0.692(5-); 0.890(3-). These results are compared with other measurements and with theoretical predictions.
