Abstract

The critical magnetic fields parallel to ultrathin superconducting films are considered. The critical fields are calculated using the Lawrence-Doniach model for two superconducting layers coupled by a Josephson junction. The mixed state appears in ultrathin films at magnetic fields much higher than those for bulk superconductors or is totally absent.
