Abstract

The applications of skyrmions to the derivation of the nucleon-nucleon force is reviewed with attention to the use of the product ansatz, additional terms in the lagrangian, baryon resonance admixtures, the instanton ansatz, dilatons, and exact two- or three-dimensional solutions for the B-I system in order to find the sources of attraction in the central and spin-orbit potentials.
