Abstract
We consider various scenarios for formation of a planet around a neutron star, as observed in PSR 1829-10. We show that matter, ablated from a companion 1.5 M⊙ star which was orbiting around the neutron star progenitor at a distance of ≈3 × 1012 cm, would be captured by the neutron star and form a disk around it. The companion star escaped from the system during the supernova event, and the observed planet was eventually formed from this disk.
