Abstract

In this short note the structural evidence for alterations to the defences of two Roman military installations, at Qasr al-Uwainid and DaCajaniya, is considered. The evidence from DaCajaniya is particularly interesting. This is one of the few Roman forts to survive to parapet walk height, the walkway itself being preserved as a result of a subsequent heightening of the defences.
