Abstract

Experimental results of measurements of dielectric susceptibility vs applied electric field at various temperatures on 3.5 and 8% Li: KTaO3 are presented. It is found that there is an enhancement of the dielectric susceptibility as a function of increasing applied electric field at temperatures below ∼ 90 K for the 8% Li crystal and at temperatures below ∼ 60 K for the 3.5% Li crystal. The results are consistent with a slightly first-order phase transition.
