Abstract

The process of taking a medical product from conception to market is a serious and complex process that resembles a battle in a war. In preparation for a battle, to be successful, you need to gather as much intelligence as you can, understand what obstacles lie ahead, and develop a well thought out plan including all steps of the development process. Obstacles such as: defining the need, developing the solution, obtaining a strong intellectual property, defining the regulatory path, choosing the right reimbursement code, and having a strong business plan in place from the start, must be well handled for success.
