Abstract
The synthesis of α-DL (and L)-diacylglycerol phosphate is described. The method involves a direct acylation of glycerol-phosphate by fatty acid anhydride in the presence of the appropriate tetracthylammonium salt. It is shown that under the experimental conditions described in this paper, the phosphatidic acid was the sole reaction product and no cyclic phosphate could be detected. The procedure described is a general one and can be used for saturated as well as unsaturated fatty acids.
