Abstract
This presentation follows debates on what should be the content and process of teaching psychosocial, family and community aspects of family medicine. A
large group operated in a nominal process fashion for 7 years and finally produced a document titled 'the unique aspects of family medicine'. The document described seven content areas for which courses should
be developed, and a proposed outline for each module has been defined. Each module describes background, skills, attitudes and knowledge required, as well as course format, teachers, recommended educational procedures and bibliography. The document is now being circulated in the family medicine community in Israel for discussion and possible implementation. The
document will be presented and the group's feedback
is sought about the validity of the process and product.
