Abstract

The psychological time perceptions and the perspectives defined for an organization's strategic planning processes and plans by males and females of different hierarchical positions are studied. The findings obtained reinforce the socialization-centered perspective: middle class males and females direct the organization's strategic planning processes and plans toward similar time perspectives when positioned at the same hierarchical level. The findings enable us to conclude that hierarchical position has a stronger influence on strategic managerial behaviors than gender.
