Abstract
An efficient way of controlling the topological vorticity in the two-dimensional XY model is presented. Using this technique we do a Monte Carlo simulation of the sector with no vortices. We find that even at infinite bare temperature the spin-correlation function decays as a (finite) power of the distance.
