Abstract

The theoretical work to establish criteria for molecular imprinting was discussed. The cross-linked polymer networks were modeled in the presence of excluded volume particles using the path-integral mean field theory. General experimental trends concerning the positive dependence of the formation of stable molecular templates on the degree of cross-linking and negative dependence on the density and size of the template molecules were predicted.
