Abstract
The simplest (so(2, 1)) Lie algebra which can be applied to the Coulomb problem is used for the description of the intramolecular dynamics of high Rydberg states. The specific application considered is for an electron orbiting a dipolar core (where the dipole moment is with respect to the center of mass).
